Are there any genuine people out there anymore? People who don’t want to benefit off of you, use you, hurt you, leave you? These days, no one seems real. Everyone is trying to be someone they’re not. Sometimes, I understand. I know what it’s like to want to be accepted, liked, wanted. But in the last few months, especially, I’ve realized that no matter how often you try to convince that you’re happy being someone you’re not, that these people do really like you, deep down, you know it’s not true. You’re secretly miserable, and you secretly loathe all those people you changed for.
The world is full of fakes and try-hards who will bite and scratch to get to the top rung of the social-ladder, but remember, those people aren’t happy. Those who are truly happy are content with what they have and who they are.
Do what you love, and fuck the rest.
